Lesotho's mountains are high and unforgiving. You're trekking at elevation where the air pressure is roughly 70% of sea level. The UV is intense (higher altitude = more UV exposure). The weather can shift from sunny to snowy in minutes.

Cotton retains moisture and loses insulation when wet. Avoid entirely.
Down jackets
(unless guaranteed dry). Down fails in moisture. Synthetic insulation wins.
